ACCESS TO THE SPACE
When the courtyard is open, you can use the main entrance. If the courtyard is closed, use the entrance by Waisenhausplatz or Hodlerstrasse.
Go to the PROGR West entrance. To the left of the entrance, by the gate, you will find several key boxes.
The barrier-free entrance is located at the PROGR West entrance.
The box belonging to café révolution is located to the left of the mailboxes. Enter the code that your contact person has sent you via private message or text message, and take the key badge.
Important! This space is a community space and is used by many different people. To ensure seamless access for everyone, we ask that you please return the key to the designated box after use. Thank you for your consideration!
If the main door is locked, you can open it using your badge on the button to the right of the door. Use the same badge for the glass door and the door to the room.

PROGR House Rules
-
Do not leave entrance doors open / The glass door must not be blocked
For safety reasons, the entrance doors must not be left open. The inner glass door may be discreetly blocked. To mark the entrance, subtenants are provided with a sign that can be placed in front of the door.• From Thursday to Saturday from 10.00 pm, the Taktvoll security team is stationed at the gate to the PROGR courtyard. Entry may be stopped if the gym is too full. People wishing to attend an event at café révolution will still be admitted.
→ Information: “Taktvoll” is the security team responsible for turnhalle and PROGR. They are stationed in the PROGR courtyard from Thursday to Saturday and also carry out patrols inside the building (there have been various incidents, including theft and graffiti). If it is a larger event, a member of the event staff must assist Taktvoll at the entrance for a certain period of time
In accordance with City of Bern regulations, the windows facing Hodlerstrasse (Art Museum) must remain closed from 10.00 pm. They may be opened briefly for ventilation. Failure to comply may result in a fine, which must be paid by the respective hosts. Café Révolution will not contribute to any such costs.
→ We wish we didn’t have to set out these Rules & Regulations – unfortunately, though, that’s the reality. Thank you very much for adhering to them.
If the event is noisy, please let us know so that café révolution can inform the neighbours accordingly
From 00.30 am, alcoholic drinks may no longer be consumed in the courtyard (City of Bern regulation). If guests bring their own drinks, these should be brought into café révolution discreetly.
Bar service with sales: The tenant must apply for a licence to serve alcohol (sales) themselves; the café révolution will not be liable for any fines incurred in this regard
Applicable health measures must be observed by the tenants; the café révolution will not be liable for any fines incurred in this regard
What to do if the fire alarm goes off?
-
As a general rule:
Every alarm must be taken seriously. The alarm system is there to protect us, not to annoy us (even if it sometimes does).
When the alarm goes off, we (the safety responsible persons) have 3 minutes to check whether there is actually a fire or to stop it if it turns out to be a false alarm. If the alarm lasts longer than 3 minutes, you should pack your things and leave the building via the nearest exit.
The same applies in the event of a repeated alarm (4 to 5 times).
In an emergency, we leave the building via the emergency exits, make our way to the Meret Oppenheim Fountain and leave the scene to the fire brigade.
Pop into the neighbouring studios and inform your fellow tenants.
Do not use the lifts in the event of a fire.
Structural and technical fire safety
In addition to the alarm system, we have the following permanently installed or portable fire safety equipment:
Fire-resistant doors: The large double doors in the corridors and the glass doors leading to the stairwells are fire-resistant doors. Their function is to contain any fire and smoke for 30 minutes. Blocked or wedged doors lose their effectiveness. Please help to prevent this.
Hand-held fire extinguishers: There are at least four hand-held fire extinguishers on every floor (except the 4th floor). These should always be freely accessible.
Fire hose reels: These are the hoses in the metal boxes. These must not be obstructed either, so that they are quickly accessible and ready for use.
Emergency call points: The red boxes with the glass panel are directly connected to the fire brigade. In an emergency: Break the glass (with your elbow) and press the alarm button. The fire brigade will respond immediately.
In an emergency:
Raise the alarm
Call 118 for the fire brigade
Warn people at risk
Rescue
Save people
Do not put yourself at risk
Extinguish
Fight the fire
Direct emergency services
Defibrillator
There is a defibrillator on the ground floor east, in the corner of the corridor, in front of the entrance to the Stadtgalerie.

AFTER THE EVENT & CLEAN-UP
-
Always leave the room as you found it. We reserve the right to charge for any subsequent cleaning or repair costs.
No alterations may be made to the room that cause lasting damage; for example, no nails in the walls or adhesive on the painted walls.
Do not move the plants. If necessary, return them to their exact original positions.
Cleaning equipment can be found in cupboard 1 and under the bar..
Disposing of waste and recycling: If your event generates a lot of waste, please dispose of it in the appropriate PROGR bins. The bins are located on Hodlerstrasse, right next to the entrance. (see site plan)
Washing up and tidying away: You can use the blue basins to collect the dishware and carry it to the sink in the corridor. Sponges and washing-up liquid are under the bar
Cleaning the bar and fridge: If you have brought your own drinks, please empty the fridge and clean it.
Important: Do not leave any food lying around in the room. This immediately attracts mice at PROGR. Please use the fridge if necessary. You will find cleaning cloths under the bar or in the cleaning cupboard.
Floor: Please sweep or vacuum & tidy up (mop if necessary)
Brooms, vacuum cleaners and mops are in cupboard 1. You will also find spare cleaning supplies, kitchen roll and bin bags there.
If chairs and tables have been borrowed from PROGR, please return them
Close any open windows
Turn down the heating (in winter only)
For large events, please also check the toilet and at least ensure that the floor is free of paper
Always check that the door is locked.
Please ALWAYS return the key badge to the box (even if you are coming back the next day).
